No Fear Energy

Sobe/Pepsi sought to update the No Fear Energy Drink and we threw
out the idea of a character to resonate with it’s audience and to help
boost sales. Much research was done on expanding the market and how
characters/icons sell. We proposed a skull since it’s “hip” in the Action
Sports Market and seemed to exude a rebellious demeanor. Plus, who
would think of putting a skull on a beverage?

This project took many revisions and many can mock-ups utilizing skulls,
type, all over repeats, textures, color studies, and at the end of the day we
finally came to a solution. Below is the final chosen type, skull & wing
combo, and examples of usage.
